Everything is a little bigger in the listed compressor hall: the imposing ceiling hovers 9 m high above the five huge compressors, which are still an integral part of the hall today. The 28 (!) large windows provide plenty of daylight - a truly extraordinary backdrop for your event!
The compressor hall of Kokerei Hansa in Dortmund is an impressive industrial monument that is now used as an extraordinary event location. The hall was originally used to house compressors, which were essential for coke production. These machines generated the necessary pressure to process the gases released during coal processing and feed them into the gas network.
Built in 1928, the compressor hall impresses with its monumental architecture and typical industrial character. High ceilings, massive steel girders and large window fronts characterize the space and give it a special atmosphere that is perfect for events.
Following the closure of the Kokerei Hansa in 1992, the hall was converted into a modern event location as part of renovation measures. Today, concerts, exhibitions, corporate events and private parties take place here. The industrial charm, coupled with modern event facilities, makes the compressor hall a unique venue in the Ruhr region.
Its use as a venue preserves the historical significance of the hall, while at the same time it has become a Dortmund venue for new experiences and cultural events. The Kompressorenhalle is part of the Route of Industrial Culture and a popular venue for events that are to take place in a special environment.
